Who I am "Work Life"

For those of you who may not be familiar with me, let me start by Introducing myself. I am Neil Cosgrove and have been a sheet metal worker in this union for just over 25 years. I originally started as an AutoCAD draftsman in 1995 for one of our former contractors and also helped with job estimates. I began the apprenticeship in 1998, and completed it in 2002, with the most outstanding apprentice award. I have been with my current employer for just over 20 years, and currently drive a service van where I install units, and ductwork, run service calls that include troubleshooting and repair, customer interaction, and received the 2018 Most Valuable Service Technician award.  Over the years I have been involved with our local union serving as trustee from 2017 to 2021, and from there being elected as your union recording secretary from 2021 until now. As recording secretary I also hold a seat on the executive board. In the 2021 election, I was also elected to serve as an alternate on the pension fund committee and the health and welfare fund committee. I have attended labor and management meetings, the annual Friends of Labor banquets held by the Central Oklahoma Labor Federation, and the apprentice and service award banquets. I am very motivated, driven, and passionate about our union, and feel like there is always room for improvement. Working for a stronger union in Oklahoma by openly, and respectfully listening to you the union member, and putting our ideas into action. To truly work together as a union family, we must work together as a team.  I am excited to work alongside you to make our union something we can all be proud of.

who I am "Home Life"

I would like to tell you about my life outside of work because you can tell a lot about how someone can handle leadership by the way they lead and handle themselves outside of work as well. I have been married to my beautiful wife, Linda, for close to 30 years and we have five children together. We love our family and take great pride in all of our kids. Our first two are boy, and girl twins and they are in their mid-twenties. Our daughter is married and is an RN at Mercy Hospital. Our son is a U.S. Army Veteran. He went through two deployments overseas and is now married and living back in Oklahoma. Our middle son just graduated high school at Yukon with honors. He is a cross-country runner and pole vaulter and is majoring in mechanical engineering at UCO. Our youngest two are also twins. (Yes we have 2 sets). They will be graduating high school this year at Yukon. They are also cross-country runners and are on the swim team. We love our family and strive to help them be successful. We know firsthand how important wages, working conditions, and benefits are to a family, and I would be honored for your consideration in this upcoming election so we can continue that together.
